40 Channels Analogue > Digital

Studio 7
Studio 7 is a world class, boutique recording studio based in Tottenham Hale, London, owned and operated by songwriter and producer Laurence Loveless. The studio comprises three purpose-built spaces: a control room, a live room, and a dedicated vocal booth—each acoustically treated using a blend of hessian-lined sound baffles and natural pine wood for optimal sound clarity and warmth.
The studio runs a powerful setup including Pro Tools, Luna, Logic, Ableton, Maschine and FL Studio, powered by a dual-screen iMac Pro. With 40 channels of analogue-to-digital conversion, audio is routed seamlessly between the mixing desk and computer via two UA Apollo 16 MkII and one Apollo 8 interfaces. This setup allows for full 40-track multitrack recording, with the ability to insert any of our extensive range of Universal Audio plug-ins directly into the recording chain as if hardware.
At the heart of Studio 7 is its centrepiece: "The Plank" — Conny Plank’s legendary 56-channel handmade mixing console. Built in 1970 by Conny Plank the desk originally lived at the iconic 'Conny’s Studio' in Cologne, where it helped shape some of the most influential records in modern music. Artists such as Kraftwerk, Ultravox, Brian Eno, Eurythmics, Echo and the Bunnymen, and Devo all made groundbreaking work on this console. Conny’s studio was a creative hub and a major influence on artists like David Bowie and Brian Eno, who together produced Devo's first album at Conny's studio on 'The Plank'.
Studio 7 also boasts an impressive range of high-end analogue gear, including a Lexicon 480L reverb, Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo, and eight vintage Barth U311 gold-cap compressor units. Our vast collection of drum kits, amps, vintage synths, keyboards, drum machines, software instruments, and more makes Studio 7 exceptionally versatile—equipped for everything from live band tracking and vocal production to electronic and urban music and experimental sound design.
A perfect blend of vintage character and modern precision, Studio 7 is built to deliver world-class results across all genres.

"Studio 7 is the best creative enviroment for making music I know of in London. It's a quiet, private space that feels creative and special from the moment you walk through the door. The equipment is world class and the atmosphere magical. I have made some truly great sounding records there."

"Just a wonderful place to record and to make music. The amazing desk and the 70s style decor and lighting make the recording process feel really special. Because the stuidio is private and quiet you can really concentrate and write without any distractions. Everything just seems to sound better than anywhere else I've been, both acoustically in the room and the recorded results."
Drew McConnell, Bass Player - Liam Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Babyshambles
"Studio 7 is my go to studio for recording drums. The kit there is amazing and the atmosphere is so calm and relaxed. Everything is set up with a minimum of fuss, and you can just get into recording really quickly. I'm always amazed at how good the drums sound before they even get to the mix. There is defininately some kind of magic in that desk!"
